The Celtic Mystical Ireland Adventure Testimonial
September 3 through 13, 2007
From the Protea Travel Newsletter

"Definitely a change of pace!

The adventure promised by Finbarr Ross our ceremonialist, healer and process facilitator of self discovery and spiritual wisdom, and our guide delivered all that was promised and more.

Wearing my Travel Consultant hat, with more years of experience than I care to count, I can tell you that I was amazed at the attention to detail. Not only was the quality promised; hotel accommodations, food, sites, fulfilled, but exceeded.

I have traveled through Ireland by car, a brooding beautiful land, before but this trip made it come alive with Celtic spirituality, and legend that you can not find in any other trip. While learning about Irelands holy places, where Druids once taught and the Celtic culture thrived, and my Fairy friends frolic, I found healing, closure of a past life, and direction for my next step in this life. Now that’s a vacation!!!!

The hope for the journey was that I would be lucky enough to experience energy along the way at one of the sites that we visited. Then at Newgrange, like all the other sites, much to my surprise, we experienced the energy of the enormous stones etched with ancient art.

At each new site, like Knowth consisting of one large temple surrounded by more than eighteen satellite structures believed to be tombs, Dowth the third of the great temples honoring the goddess, or Tara one of the largest Celtic monuments in Europe revered as a dwelling place of the gods, we tuned into the energy, meditated, participated in healing opportunities and shared insights.

My Fairy friends seemed to welcome me home at Glendalough. I could not resist straying from the usual path to find the source of the feelings of sheer delight at this ancient site, the ‘Glen of the Two Lakes ’.

At Kildare we climbed the tower and the view of the countryside was breathtaking. We stood where Saint Brigid's flame burned for over a thousand years prior to the English reformation. Her holy well is still visited for the experience of miraculous healings and divine inspiration.

I had visited Muckross House and gardens on my previous trip to Ireland, however did not know at the time of the mystical part of the grounds. A walk back to the falls definitely puts you in touch with the elementals who dwell in the area. The forest does seem magical.

I actually made it up the 620 steps of the sanctuary of Skellig Michael, located 8 miles off the southwest coast of Ireland. On the return boat trip the sun came out, the dolphins played around us and I had a long overdue past life conversation and closure. An excellent day!!!!!

The Drombeg stone circle known as the ‘Druid's Altar' is a powerful place and we all experienced vibrations as we took turns lying on the Druid altar. Colors----- heat----insights---- you name it, we got it!

While we did not kiss the Blarney Stone while at the Castle, we did check out its ancient Druid heritage. As we walked behind the Castle to the Goddess’s area the crows cawed wildly, as if announcing our coming. Once there all became very quiet, perhaps she was watching as we all made our wish at her special stone.

Lough Gur’s Goddess Aine, brought to mind Hawaii’s Pele, as she too appears in different forms; as a young woman, and a hag, empowering the land's human custodians and she is known to defend her realm.

All in all ---- a fantastic trip!

I’ll be getting next year’s dates soon…….
So if you would like to share in an incredible journey ………
Stay tuned for plans of the 2008 trek into the past to enlighten the future………..

P.S. My roommate on the trip, Dulcie, took over 900 pictures and the ones you see here are a very small sampling!"

"A group of retired international flight attendants and I decided to have our retirement party in Ireland since most of us were of Irish descent. Finbarr tailored the trip to our interests which included gardens and art. We stayed in wonderful out of the way places and had a wonderful time. It was like having a big brother traveling with you and trust me, traveling with a group of type "A" senior women who are accustomed to international travel is not for the faint of heart. He was a gem and I would follow him almost anywhere!"

"Visiting the sacred sites in Ireland was exciting and phenomenal. Finbarr is an excellent guide. It was much more than I imaged. I look forward to the next trip."

Kay O. from Wisconsin writes ...

"Our trip to Ireland (2005) was a beautiful healing journey. Ireland is a fabulous, magical land. Finbarr guided us to and through many wonderful sacred sites. He also guided us through the wide range of healing experiences we received at those sights. I highly recommend Finbarr's trips to anyone desiring to grow spiritually and looking for a little fun too."

Barbi W. from Wisconsin writes ...

"Dear Finbarr,

Here it is in Wisconsin-- cold, cold, and more cold! On these frigid snowy winter nights, nothing brings me more pleasure than to pull out my photo album and look at all my lovely memories from my trip with you this last summer (2005). Instantly I am transported to the lush verdant green of Ireland!

I had such a wonderful time traveling with you through Ireland and seeing so many sacred sights. Though my mind is still boggled by what we saw, my spirit and heart felt that I had "come home" once more. Ireland is truly spectacular, and how you presented it made it even more special!! Thank you for sharing your home country and your profound knowledge!

Love, Barbi W."

"Congratulations if you are about to embark on a profound pilgrimage through Ireland's soulful history with Finbarr Ross. Finbarr is a generous and gifted teacher - he will impart deep layers of meaning and experience as he guides you through your own awakening on this mystical tour.

I felt myself walking in my own footsteps up the Hill of Tara with the marvelous energy of this special place lifting me. St. Patrick's energy came alive for me as I gazed out from the Abbey Tower at Slane. In a fifth century monastery I felt the peaceful energy of the monks at prayer.

From Loughcrew/the Hill of the Witch, while the wind raged and whirled, I sat deep inside the burial chamber and knew this was a place full of compassion and power where justice and order prevailed.

Crossing the Ocean to Skellig Michael my spirit soared as we approached an exhilarating climb to the sky, and to the transcendent and mind boggling community that sits atop and scrapes the clouds.

Then I encountered the compassionate and strong feminine energy of St.Brigid - the marvelous of her urging me to look deep within to follow her example. The pilgrimage ends with a contemplative day at Glendalough where you will be able to draw all of these energies and experiences together to realize how much this journey has changed you. I will never be the same again, but will always walk with those images from long ago.

Thank you Finbarr for all that you do. I wish all who journey with you a bright and wonderful awakening as they journey with Celtic Mystical Tours."

"Thank you for a truly wonderful trip. I appreciate the thought and effort you gave to each segment of our journey. The hotels and dinners were exceptional. I appreciate your instructions on Celtic and Christian history and tradition, the blessings from the Divine Feminine rosary and communion services. We shared a unique, intimate, healing and enlightening journey that I could never have anticipated. Thank you for facilitating our transformational journey."

Carolyn J. from Arizona writes ...

"May I express my heartfelt thanks to Celtic Mystical Tours and Finbarr Ross for introducing me to the grandeur and mystery of sacred Ireland. As we learned, Ireland is a woman. We experienced many of her complexities, from the willful Maeve at Loughcrew to the radiance of her compassion at St. Cieran's Well at Inish Mor. We experienced the depth of her faith at St. Brigid's holy well. The passion and purity of St. Brigid's flame, which burned for over one thousand years, ignited our hearts with hope for the future. Words fail to express the gratitude, which I feel for the personal healing which I received at Brigid's Well. I have suffered with a serious lung condition since 1996. A process of physical healing began at Brigid's Well and continued over the next month as I was guided to receive some additional medical treatment. Today my lungs are clear for the first time in over six years!!!

We learned that Finbarr has a deep connection with St. George the dragonslayer. He explained to us that the dragon is a symbol for the shadow within each of us and that transformation requires us to make peace with the shadow. This goal was achieved for me at Glendalough as I lovingly carried my shadow from St. Kevin's lower lake to the upper lake. I felt the light of truth gently illuminating and melting my shadow away. It is my hope that many others will share this journey of healing and growth".
